The last thing any high school student wants on their prom night is to be dropped off by their parents but eight students from Pershore High School in Worcester started their prom night in just this way. The group of students had organised for a limousine to pick them up and take them all to their prom together, in style but unfortunately the limousine broke down on the way to pick them up.

One of the group of boys had organised a stretch limousine for prom night to pick up their group at a central car park and take them all for a little cruise around Worcester before the prom started and they could make a grand entrance. After the parents dropped their students off and waited and waited for the limousine to arrive, the start of the prom was fast approaching.

One parent rang the limo hire company whose office assured the group that the limo had left with plenty of time to pick them up and should be there at any minute. At the same time the limo hire company tried to contact their driver to find out what had happened. It wasn’t until later that they were able to contact the wayward chauffeur and found out that he had broken down and had been busy trying to get his limousine off the side of the road.

While the students were refunded their deposit, it does not make up for the experience they missed out on. They had organised music which they wanted to play during the ride and even drinks to stock their limo fridge. In this sort of case you would and should expect the limousine chauffeur to contact their office before even getting out of the limo to see what was wrong, so that a replacement limousine could be sent.
